Backstory...
In January 2009 I uploaded my then incomplete and unfinished novel, The Memory of Lost Senses, onto Harper Collins authonomy website. The book had a fairly meteoric rise to the top of the 4000+ slush pile and made it onto the Editor's desk the following month. Here's some of what the Harper Collins editor had to say....
“This is a well-written novel in which you show yourself to have a skilled prose style and an excellent ear for nuanced dialogue. The overall structure is an often used but nonetheless effective ‘past alternating with present format’, reminiscent of Possession by A S Byatt… On the basis of the structure and readability of this novel, and the standard of writing, I would certainly recommend you to progress with this novel.”

So, where am I up to?
The Girl on the Gate is very nearly complete, and is already out there being read...eek!

The Memory of Lost Senses is on a shelf at the moment - gathering dust. But this autumn I shall begin my rewrite. A mammoth task, but one I have to do...
In the meantime it's the summer holidays, so not a lot of free time for me to lose myself in words. (Shame, because I'm busy thinking of and plotting another book...)
Any news will be posted here first... but please, don't hold your breath ;)
